Back in 2017, I had the chance to work on something pretty huge – managing the INFINITI IQ VR experience that Curiious built for global motor shows. It was so fun to be behind the scenes of those massive shows, working with a great team and getting to travel to China, Switzerland and the UAE.
Curiious created this amazing fully interactive VR experience where users could step into INFINITI's world and explore the space, which was a brand new way to connect with a brand. Over 200,000 people experienced it either at the international motor shows or by downloading it at home, which is pretty incredible when you think about it!
I got to wear many hats on this project across four international shows:
Set up the tech ecosystem as the technical producer – installed and calibrated everything on-site from backpack computer rigs with top-spec graphics cards to modified HTC Vive headsets.
Led the teams – Trained onboarding staff and made sure every user had an amazing experience.
Created content – Edited trailers and hype reels using footage I filmed at the events, as well as rendering in-game content out of Unreal Engine. You can see the VR game trailer here on Steam.

The technical side was fascinating. Curiious was pushing VR boundaries in 2017 with untethered, free-roaming experiences that let people actually walk around and explore, not just stand in one spot.
This project taught me so much about blending cutting-edge technology with thoughtful user experience. There's something magical about watching someone step into a virtual world and have their mind completely blown!
There were some golden moments when the experience felt so real to users that they would try to sit in the virtual INFINITI car (they wouldn't find the car in the real world, but would often find the floor).
